Pushing the Donk

There will be times when you have to put a donk in his place. And one of the ways to do that is the simply shove. When you break down the poker online game into preflop, flop, turn and river play, the most crucial moment you’ll catch a donk and stack off with him on is at the turn. Let’s say you pre flop raised and you got a cold call. The flop comes, you’re holding KK, and the donk is holding some kind of Qx hand and a Queen hits. Now he’s betting into you. So what’s your move. Well if you have a history on the guy, you’ll know he’s been known to play top pair with any online poker kicker. So you 3 bet him, and 3bet him hard. 3-3.5 his raise amount. Again, you’ll either get a cold call or an instant fold most of the time. Then the turn comes, again he checks to you. Here’s the moment you put him in place. Instashove and see if he’s willing to stack off. Odds are if he’s playing the something stronger than top pair, he’d be betting, so here’s where you get the money in. And it’s ridiculous how many times you’ll see these donks stack off against you with a 5 outer hoping to hit something on the river. Sure you’ll catch a bad beat every now and again as he will occasionally suck out on you. But most of the time, this kind of online poker play against a donk will easily double your stack size or at least take down about 30bbs.
